Yes. Although we can provide a relatively accurate estimate after some discussion with the customer over the phone or email, we are also happy provide a free in-person estimate at your home.
In-home estimates are mostly complete for long distance or interstate; however, accommodations can be made for customers that are interested in an in-home estimate for their local or larger move.
Is your company insured?
Absolutely! This is a question that you should ask during the quote obtaining process when hiring movers.
Do not risk being moved by a company that is not insured and does not have the authority to operate as a motor carrier. Rest assure that our company is fully insured and has been issued a DOT and MC number by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. See company snapshot here
Do you provide moving services on weekends and/or holidays?
Yes. Weekend dates, particularly at the beginning and end of each month, tend to book up quickly. We recommend providing as much advance notice as possible for weekend reservations. We operate on a normal or slightly modified schedule on most holidays.
How far in advance do I need to reserve moving services?
We recommend making your reservation at least 4 weeks in advance if possible; particularly during the Spring and Summer months which are known to be the preferred times to move.
During peak season, we recommend scheduling your move at least 1.5 months in advance.
How do I know the movers will show up?
Sadly, reliability is not a characteristic often associated with moving companies.
Fortunately, JSIII Moving is not your typical moving company and reliability is our highest priority. Once your move is reserved, rest assure that we will be there on the day of your move.
Do you have an inclement weather policy?
Unfortunately, inclement weather is always a possibility. We currently have two variations to our weather policy.
- Less than Ideal Weather: For situations that are not considered severe, such as rain, the customer has the option to reschedule their move. Requests to reschedule must be made within a reasonable time period to avoid being charged a cancellation fee. All furniture is wrapped in blankets and covered to the best of our ability to avoid any damages due to any inclement weather.
- Severe Weather: In more severe situations (e.g severe thunderstorms, snow storms, etc.) the decision to reschedule a move is at the discretion of JSIII Moving. We have no desire to inconvenience our customers; however, severe weather could create dangerous conditions for all involved. In severe weather situations, we work quickly to accomodate based on availability.
When does the billable time start?
Most moving companies begin billing customers as soon as the moving truck or vehicle departs their lot. We do things a little differently at JSIII. For more information on service time and hourly rates, please do not hesitate to contact us.
What if I have a time constraint such as a reserved elevator?
If you have a specific time constraint such as a reserved elevator, we make every effort to accommodate the request by establishing a firm start time or a reduced arrival window. Please be sure to discuss this with our company during the quoting or reservation process.
What If I have multiple pick-up or drop-off locations?
Typically, there are no limitations to the number of additional stops as long as they within reasonable distance.
Please be sure to discuss this further during the quoting and reservation process.
Will the movers pad and wrap my furniture?
Yes. Padding and wrapping furniture is a very important component of the loading process.
We provide standard moving materials for padding/wrapping furniture at no additional cost.
Do you assemble/disassemble furniture?
Yes. We disassemble and reassemble all furniture as part of standard moving services.
Due to liability concerns, we cannot provide disassembly or assembly for some items such as baby cribs, water beds, tanning beds, gas or electrical appliances, pianos, etc.
Additionally, we cannot wall re-mount flat screen TVs. If you have specific questions about this, please do not hesitate to ask!
Can I help the movers load or unload?
During unloading, do the movers place my items in the correct rooms?
Absolutely! This question has always baffled us, isn’t that one of the main reasons you hired movers in the first place? When we provide unload services we will place your household items in their designated rooms.
Are there any ``additional fees” that I need to be concerned about?
Absolutely not. We believe in honest, up-front pricing with no surprises.
Our quoted rates include all required labor charges, fees and surcharges. We do not have any fees for stairs, long carries, elevators or similar. Our goal is to be as transparent as possible with our customers.
What methods of payment do you accept?

Depending on the weight and stability of the dresser, however, it may be necessary to remove the drawers before moving the dresser.
