We realize the uncertainties that our customers may be faced with when planning their moves during the COVID-19 emergency. Below are some helpful tips that will assist you and our movers with safely completing your move.
Social Distancing – social distancing during a move can be challenging; however, the following can assist with practicing social distancing to the greatest extent possible:
Limit the number of family members that will be present during the move or designate an area in your home(s)for family members- particularly the most vulnarable to hang out while the move is being completed.
Steer clear of the movers! After all, we are there to service you.
Follow CDC recommended protocols to protect yourself and others (e.g. wearing a mask or face covering, maintaining communication at 6 feet apart, etc.)
Avoid handshaking – a simple wave is fine and just as appreciated.
Complete all packing in advance and label boxes as clearly as possible.
Avoid using recycled boxes and bins. Purchasing new boxes is best during this time.
Have hand sanitizer or a sink with running water and soap available for your movers.
Consider deep cleaning your home. The CDC provides general recommendations for routine cleaning and disinfection of households:
Practice routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces (e.g. tables, doorknobs, light switches, handles, desks, toilets, faucets, sinks, and electronics with “household cleaners and EPA-registered disinfectants that are appropriate for the surface, following label instructions.”
